Guest Services – SUPERVISOR (Part time/Seasonal)

Department:  Guest and Security Services

Hours:  Must be able to work flexible hours, primarily evening and weekend shifts, and occasionally holidays

POSITION SUMMARY:  

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Guest Services, oversee work performed by department staff to ensure that guests have an exceptional experience at the BMO Harris Bradley Center; supervise and provide performance feedback to staff; monitor guest activity and assist with maintaining order and ensuring adherence to safety rules. Demonstrate a professional and courteous demeanor at all times and maintain the highest standards of customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct pre-event planning to ensure proper utilization and deployment of staff; assist with preparation of post-event reports
  • Review staff assignments prior to each event; assist with staff check-in and issue radios, pagers and other equipment necessary for the event
  • Assist with orientation and training of new employees; supervise staff and provide performance feedback and coaching as needed, make recommendations for disciplinary action
  • Attend pre-event security meetings and other staff meetings as required; act as a member of the emergency evacuation team by communicating with and directing guests during a facility emergency
  • Understand and enforce all Center policies and procedures; respond to arena and event issues, including but not limited to ticket and seating-related problems, alcohol awareness, lost children, and guests with special needs
  • Alert management of safety concerns within the Center
  • Display a fan-friendly and professional appearance at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required; college graduate preferred 
  • A minimum of three (3) years' supervisory experience, preferably in Guest Services and/or Customer Service 
  • Excellent communication skills, pleasant manner, approachable and unflappable
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, superiors, other departmental employees, tenants, and the public
  • Must enjoy working with a variety of people and have a service-oriented approach
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, including work-related safety rules, and apply them to work environment
  • Enthusiasm for working and participating in an exciting, team-oriented workplace
  • Must be able to walk or stand for the duration of the shift, climb steps and perform duties in low-lighting situations
  • Ability to lift 15 lbs. unaided
