comedy event announcement: Louis C.K.

MILWAUKEE (MAY 16, 2016) – The BMO Harris Bradley Center (BMOHBC) along with The PTG Live Events today announced that comedy superstar and six-time Emmy winner Louis C.K. will bring his live standup tour to the Center on Aug. 1. The show is the second joint effort between the Center and the PTG after a highly successful Amy Schumer event on Dec. 4.  It adds yet another major event for the Center’s already star-studded 29th season, which includes KISS (Aug. 8, 2016), the recently announced TORUK - The First Flight presented by Cirque du Soleil (Sep. 22-25, 2016), Maroon 5 (Oct. 1, 2016), Carrie Underwood (Oct. 5, 2016), 2016 Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions (Oct. 14, 2016), and Keith Urban (Nov. 4, 2016).

Six-time Emmy Award winner Louis C.K. is one of the most honest and respected comedic voices of his generation, finding success in both television and film as well as the live stage. Currently, Louis can be seen starring in Horace and Pete, a drama he both writes and directs. The New York Times says, “It’s probing, engaged and moving. Horace and Pete is a riveting series!” The show debuted in January 2016 and is being directly distributed through his website

Louis has received over 30 Emmy nominations throughout his career, including wins for “Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series” for his work on the FX series, Louie and awards for “Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special” for his standup comedy specials. Additionally, he has won 2 GRAMMY Awards for Best Comedy Album.

In January 2015, he became the first comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden four times on the same tour. The third show was recorded and released as a digital audio download on his website, which went on to take home his most recent 2016 GRAMMY Award for Best Comedy Album.
