NCAA ANNOUNCES OPEN PRACTICE SCHEDULE AT BMO HARRIS BRADLEY CENTER

Wednesday, March 15 practice sessions free and open to the public 

MILWAUKEE – The open practice times for all eight teams competing in the first round of the 2017 NCAA® Division I Men’s Basketball Championship at the BMO Harris Bradley Center are set and will take place on the Center floor on Wednesday, March 15. Practice sessions will run throughout the day from noon to 7:20 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Doors open at 11 a.m.

Each team will have 40 minutes to practice.

Noon – 12:40 p.m.: Winthrop
12:45 – 1:25 p.m.: Middle Tennessee State
1:30 – 2:10 p.m.: Butler
2:15 – 2:55 p.m.: Minnesota
4:25 – 5:05 p.m.: Purdue
5:10 – 5:50 p.m.: Iowa State
5:55 – 6:35 p.m.: Vermont
6:40 – 7:20 p.m.: Nevada

“This is a great chance for the public to see eight of the nation’s hottest college teams up close – and for free – and we encourage everyone to stop by and catch their favorites in action,” said Steve Costello, president and CEO of the BMO Harris Bradley Center. “This open practice session will kick off a great four days of March Madness in Milwaukee, and we’re honored and excited to welcome the tournament back to the Center.”

“Nothing beats the intensity and passion of college basketball fans during March Madness, and we’re privileged to host again this year in Milwaukee,” said Marquette University Vice President and Athletics Director Bill Scholl. “We are excited to welcome eight great institutions to Wisconsin and hope to provide an enriching experience for all student-athletes and fans in attendance. The BMO Harris Bradley Center has been a great partner and we are looking forward to yet another tremendous event as the building hosts the NCAA tournament for the final time.”

There is no ticket required to attend the open practice sessions, and fans can come at any time. Free parking is available in the Center structure. Entrance will be at the Potawatomi and Northwestern Mutual gates off N. Fourth St. Seating will be available on the 200 level, and merchandise and concession stands will be open. 

The tournament begins Tuesday, March 14, with games played in Milwaukee on Thursday, March 16 and Saturday, March 18. Thursday’s Session I games will feature Butler vs. Winthrop at 12:30 p.m., followed by Minnesota vs. Middle Tennessee State at approximately 3:10 p.m. In Session II, Purdue will face off against Vermont at 6:27 p.m., with Iowa State vs. Nevada at about 9:05 p.m. All times are CST.
